Sonu Sood is an Indian actor and philanthropist who has gained widespread recognition for his humanitarian work during the COVID-19 pandemic in India.

Sonu Sood was born on July 30, 1973, in Moga, Punjab, India. He started his acting career in the Tamil film industry with the movie "Kallazhagar" in 1999. He then appeared in several Telugu and Bollywood films, including "Arundhati," "Dabangg," and "Simmba." He has also appeared in a few Hollywood movies like "The Xpose" and "Kung Fu Yoga."

In March 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit India, Sonu Sood started providing food and shelter to migrant workers who were stranded in Mumbai due to the lockdown. He also arranged transportation for them to return to their hometowns. His efforts quickly gained national attention, and he was praised for his generosity and kindness.

Sonu Sood also launched a toll-free helpline number and a mobile app called "Pravasi Rojgar" to help migrant workers find employment opportunities. He also provided financial assistance to students who were unable to pay their school fees and supported healthcare workers by providing them with PPE kits and other essential items.

In recognition of his efforts, Sonu Sood was honored with several awards, including the prestigious "SDG Special Humanitarian Action Award" by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in September 2020. He was also named as one of the "TIME 100" most influential people in the world in 2020.


Sonu Sood's philanthropic work continues to this day, and he remains a source of inspiration for many people in India and around the world.
